Equilibrium Completes Project with ProMetic BioTherapeutics
by Aliyah DeVille
Equilibrium, a life sciences design-build firm located on the JHU Montgomery County Campus, has announced the completion of the design, construction, and relocation of ProMetic BioTherapeutics (PBT) to its new facility in Rockville, MD.
ProMetic BioTherapeutics, a global pharmaceutical company offering technologies for large-scale drug purification and development, proteomics, and the elimination of pathogens, was in need of more lab space. With the help of Equilibrium, the company has relocated to a 16,000 square foot space with laboratories and administrative areas.
Jason Rifkin, the program manager for the project, said that the new space will increase efficiency with contiguous lab space compared to the segregated labs of PBT’s previous location.
Equilibrium aided in the process of creating PBT’s new space, including the facility planning, design, permitting, construction, and staff relocation. With the help of Associate Project Manager William Kalench, Equilibrium was able to create a space in which PBT will be able to save on its annual facility expenses.
Equilibrium supports the life science industry and aims to define the needs of life science organizations as it relates to strategic facilities planning, design, construction, equipment selection, and continuing operations.
